QA & Testing

Catch The Bugs Before Your Customers Do

Manual functional and UI/UX testing for your website or software, done by a tester with 3 years of hands-on freelance experience. Clear, honest reporting on what's broken and what confuses real users.

A site or app that "works on my machine" isn't the same as one that works for every real customer, on every real device, doing things in an order the developer didn't anticipate. That gap is where lost sales, support tickets, and one-star reviews usually come from. Testing exists to find that gap before your customers do, and report it clearly enough that it actually gets fixed.

What You Get

Honest About What's Included, And What Isn't

Testing services get oversold a lot: agencies claiming "full QA" or "complete security testing" without the depth of experience to back it up. We'd rather be direct. This service is built on 3 years of genuine freelance experience in manual, functional, and UI/UX testing, which is where the real strength is. Automation testing is offered too, but it's a capability we're actively building, not yet the core of what we do, so it's positioned as a complement to manual testing rather than a replacement for it.

Security and penetration testing are not currently offered as a service. It's an area we're interested in growing into, but claiming expertise there without the depth of experience to back it up would be doing you a disservice, not a favour. If a client needs formal security testing, we'll say so plainly rather than take the work and hope for the best.

Why Manual Testing Still Matters

Automated tests are good at repeating the same check thousands of times without getting bored. They're much worse at noticing that a button is technically clickable but confusingly placed, that an error message is accurate but unreadable, or that a checkout flow works but feels stressful. That's the gap manual testing fills: a real person, following real user behaviour, noticing the things a script was never told to look for. For most independent businesses, that combination catches far more of the problems that actually cost you customers than automation alone would.

What A Good Bug Report Looks Like

"The checkout is broken" isn't useful to a developer trying to fix it. A proper bug report includes exactly what was clicked, in what order, on what browser and device, what was expected to happen, and what actually happened, ideally with a screenshot or screen recording attached. That level of detail is the difference between a bug getting fixed in one pass and a developer spending an hour trying to reproduce something they can't see. It's a habit built over three years of freelance testing work, and it's the actual deliverable you're paying for, not just a list of complaints.

Our Process

01

Scope The Testing

We agree which user journeys, browsers, and devices matter most for your business before testing starts.

02

Test

Manual functional and usability testing across the agreed scope, following real user paths, not just a checklist.

03

Report

Every issue documented with steps to reproduce, severity, and screenshots, so your team can act immediately.

04

Retest

Once fixes are in, we confirm the issues are actually resolved and nothing else broke in the process.

"We'd rather tell you what a service doesn't cover than let you find out the hard way after you've paid for it."

Who This Is For

This service works both as a standalone offering for any website or software product, and as the final quality check before a RED Web Studio build goes live. It's a good fit if you're about to launch something new and want a second pair of eyes before customers see it, if you've had bug reports you can't reproduce internally, or if a recent update needs checking before it reaches everyone. If you already have a live website, our free website audit can flag obvious issues quickly before you commission a fuller testing pass.

Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of testing experience do you have?+

3 years of freelance experience in manual functional and UI/UX testing. Automation testing is a capability currently being developed, and is offered on a limited basis alongside manual testing rather than as the primary service.

Do you offer security or penetration testing?+

Not currently. Security testing is an area we are actively developing towards, but we don't offer it as an active service yet, and won't claim expertise we don't have.

Can you test a site or app you didn't build?+

Yes. Testing is offered as a standalone service for any website or software product, not only ones built by RED Web Studio.

What do I receive after testing is complete?+

A clear written report listing every bug and usability issue found, with steps to reproduce, severity, and screenshots, so your development team can act on it directly.
